A Dubai-based Singaporean won S$1.2 million in a Dubai Duty Free (DDF) lucky draw on Tuesday (May 7) but this is not the first time he has gotten lucky. In 2011, he had also won S$2.4 million in a draw by the same company.

Established in December 1983, Dubai Duty Free is a leading airport retailer and hosts various lucky draw promotions every year.

This includes the Double Millionaire promotion which offers a US$2 million prize, the Millennium Millionaire promotion which offers a US$1 million prize, as well as the Finest Surprise Luxury Car promotion.

According to reports on Gulf News and Dubai Duty Free, this year's winner in the Millennium Millionaire promotion, Series 143, is 41-year-old Mr Naveen Manghnani.

However, this is not the first time he has gotten lucky in a DDF draw.

In 2011, the businessman had also won a prize of US$2 million in the Double Millionaire promotion, Series 4.

Mr Manghnani is the third person in the history of Dubai Duty Free to win its dollar millionaire promotions more than once. He was unavailable for comments at the time and will definitely be surprised when he learns about his great win.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, Dubai Duty Free presented a US$1 million cheque to Mr. Rajeev Kumar Praveen Kumar, an Indian national living in Qatar who won his prize in Series 142 with ticket no. 1148 few weeks earlier. Mr. Kumar was thrilled to visit Dubai Duty Free and receive his winning prize along with his wife Sydonie Kumar.

Commenting on receiving the cheque, the lucky winner said: ‘My wife and I are excited to be here today for such a wonderful occasion. Winning US$1 million is an unforgettable experience, which will change our lives. We are grateful to Dubai Duty Free for such amazing promotions and will continue buying tickets in the hope of making it second time lucky.’
